IMMORTAL ELCHE

There are numerous archaeological sites in the municipal district of Elche, such as the timeless legacy of its great history: Caramoro, La Moleta, Limoneros, El Promontori, La Figuera Reona… And La Alcudia stands out among all of them, the legendary Ilici of the Iberians, the Greeks, the Carthaginians, the Romans and the Visigoths.

From the beginning of the 15th century, La Alcudia has been a famous archaeological site and today it is one of the most important sites in Spain. In its midst among the strata, temples, villas, Iberian and Roman objects the most universal woman of Elche appeared on the 4th of August, 1897: La Dama de Elche, the culmination of Iberian art and one of the most famous sculptures in the world.
