Elche promotes the collaboration and knowledge sharing between companies and the Science Park

The City Council of Elche promotes the collaboration and knowledge sharing between companies and the Science Parks of Miguel Hernández University, Alicante University and those of the Network of Valencian Science Parks (REPCV), to favour innovation, the development of the industrial network and the growth of start-ups. It also promotes the cooperation between the City Council, PIMESA and the main stakeholders of entrepreneurship, innovation and research, to favour the establishment of companies through commercial benefits.

The Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) is the result of a cooperation agreement among them to promote the competitiveness of companies and the  knowledge-producing institutions that have been set up and are associated with the Science Parks. Furthermore, it promotes innovation, diversification and the growth of a new quality business and industrial network, which is different and committed to upholding social responsibility policies. They even promote the creation of companies related to research in the space industry.   

The Science Parks:

  • They favour the acquisition of knowledge and technology transfer.
  • They promote private investment in the development of inventions and discoveries.
  • They promote cooperation among teachers, sponsors and industrialists.
  • They benefit society through the economic development favoured by the investment.
  • They generate income/returns for the university and its inventors.

The five Science Parks that are included in the rePCV are:

  • Espaitec, the Scientific and Technological Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló.

  • The University of Valencia Science Park.

  • The Polytechnic City of Innovation (CPI). Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).

  • Science Park of Alicante. Alicante University.

  • Scientific Park of Miguel Hernández University of Elche

The Miguel Hernández University of Elche is involved in extensive research  carried out by the Institute for Molecular and Cellular Biology, the Institute of  Bioengineering, the University Research Institute “Center of Operations Research”, the different university  departments, the Research Results Transfer Office (OTRI), the Research Technical Services that cover the areas of Science, Engineering, the Groups and the Research Professorships and the Sports Research Centre.

The objective of the Scientific Park of the University of Elche is to promote sharing knowledge between the University and the business world and stimulate the creation of start-ups, spinoffs and innovative companies, by providing them with services that focus on their growth and competitiveness:

  • Help to find funding.
  • Networking and access to business and knowledge networks.
  • Guidance on how to protect the results of the R+D+I.
  • Legal and judicial support.
  • Digital services.
  • Processing and managing public funding.
  • Advanced training for Companies.
  • Communication Services.
  • Accommodation Services.

The City Council of Elche has entered into a Collaboration Protocol with the Miguel Hernández University of Elche in order to promote and coordinate the activities of the company and the university associated with science, technological development, innovation and competitiveness.

PIMESA, has also signed an Agency Service Agreement with the Fundación Universitas Miguel Hernández, to provide companies associated with the Scientific-Business Park with business benefits to set up in the Elche Technology Campus.
