The Fourth Industrial Revolution

Elche is facing the challenge of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the 4.0 Industry, based on emerging digital technology, the interconnected systems in the whole production process and Artificial Intelligence. To this end both public and private areas are working on the transformation of the production model, the modernisation of its entrepreneurial base and skilled labour. Being at the forefront of this revolution will turn Elche into a regional and national leader.

The main objective of the  4.0 Industry Agenda of the Valencian Community  is the evolution of the production model towards a new sustainable, intelligent and inclusive industry through digitization, which includes robotization, the sciences of materials and the new production processes.  The progress of digital technology is essential for economic transformation and it is changing the way of designing, producing, marketing and generating value from products and services.

The companies have to incorporate the automation of industrial processes and Information Technology, in order to improve internal operations (flexibility, speed and productivity), reduce costs, improve the quality of products and supply new services.

The main strategic challenges of the Valencian industry include strengthening bonds in the clusters of the sectors, to improve their competitiveness and innovation.
